His tone is warm and strong, rough and insinuating, flexible and personal. Time he roars and bratzt that it is a pleasure, sometimes he glides through the elegant curves and melodious the tone loses weight off to a fine puffs: Gabriel Coburger, saxophonist from Hamburg, tenor and soprano, flute alongside the instrument on which once he began to deal more intensively with music.

Coburger, born in 1967, is no longer quite young, his merits, he has long since earned: in the New York scene, where he 1993-2001 was always at home, as a stand-by at the NDR Big Band tenor and as guest in the band of Norwegian Geir Lysne big band big shot, and of course with his own bands and projects.

In Hamburg, we know what we have in the dynamic saxophonist who cares as the organizer and spokesman for the scene, not to let the musical tide does turn out to be flat - in the spring of Coburg was honored with the Hamburg Jazz Award.«from press ...
